Just a quick note on additional Forum technology I simply needed to implement. And sadly so too, I might add.

The site has become extremely popular, over the last few months.

That’s probably due to the content, quality of content, great guest bloggers who are sharing their knowledge and the forums starting to pick up in popularity as well.

In fact, just yesterday GeekandJock ranked #1 for ‘relationship advice’ – that tops Dr Phil for a high ranking keyword so we must be doing something really well and popular.

With popularity also comes the dark elements – Spammers trying to use what we’ve all put together for their own purposes. This also makes my part time efforts of Administration of the site to be way more work than it should.

So I’ve needed to add:

[1] WangGuard monitoring for known Spammers
[2] Those horrid Captcha codes for when you add new Topics or Replies – I hate them as much as you do, trust me on that one
