Healing from the Pain of Infidelity as a Couple

When someone commits infidelity it doesn’t always mean they want to end their marriage. It doesn’t quite make a lot of sense, but it’s true. Many times, the person cheats for other reasons that has nothing to do with the love they have for their partner.

The problem is that the consequences of their cheating devastate their marriage. It tears down the house of marriage the couple has built right down to the foundation. This leaves the couple to rebuild the marriage from the foundation.

Any Chance Of A Relationship After Cheating?

You learned that your husband cheated on you. You feel like your world fell apart, your heart torn from your chest because of grief. You can’t seem to understand why this happened to you. You seem to be shocked on how you got yourself in this situation.

You have to remember that you are not the only one suffering. About sixty percent (60%) of men cheat. And, as most say, it’s normal. Life after cheating is terribly painful and hard. You have a lot of questions but it seems that answers are scarce. And as you look at your husband, you see a very different person.

Your relationship changed and your family not in its usual pace.

There’s been a number of different articles on the site about cheating and why it happens.

You can check out ‘ A Healthy Marriage Sees Partners Cheat - Why? ‘ as one example I wrote back in September 2010.

The missing part of that post was around the underlying reasons that it relates directly to the cheaters own personal value system. And what is a value system?

It’s essentially what’s most important to a person - and bear in mind, these things change with time as well.

  4. Cheating – I Think It’s A Human Gene Or Is It?

I recently read an article on CNN that suggested there is a link between a person's income and whether they're likely to cheat on their partner. Here's a few excerpts to begin with:

Men who are completely economically dependent on their female partners are five times more likely to cheat than men in relationships with women who earned similar amounts, according to the the study's author, Christin Munsch, a sociology Ph.D. candidate at Cornell University.
