It’s amazing isn’t it? We’ve all had to ensure a sales assistant telling you ‘Sorry, it’s company policy’ or ‘I just work here unfortunately’. Well, to be honest, companies and corporations don’t make policy, real people do that. And if you work at a place, you have the responsibility of handling my issues, not some faceless name tag of a corporation.
It seems the larger companies breed this sort of behaviour - my wife and I recently (last week) traveled to Las Vegas to see the sights. Naturally, we were alerted to ensuring our bank was notified of the travel dates and destinations to ensure their monitoring systems didn’t flag any credit card purchases as potentially fraudulent. Funnily enough, it was the ANZ bank teller who told us this, with the only way to do it was to actually phone them. OK, that’s the bank procedure, huh?
