• Wow that's so cool to hear, Ana and very much the same story of success as Dana ( @mrsdeegee ) below – so it's gotta be working, yeah?

OK, time for me to get stuck into Pam for some workout togetherness :)

Still ironing out the Badge System @mrsdeegee but it's starting to shape up as a little bit of fun, I think.
Let me know what kind of other badges you might think of – it's pretty robust in being able to award on all sorts of site activity. I'm going to invite some Facebook friends to kick some tyres too haha

It was a good read, huh? :)
Still kicking the tyres on the Community thing, @mrsdeegee – just gotta get/invite some more interesting and likeminded peeps here to start more balls rolling.
(And have been slaving over backend web rubbish preventing me from writing which is a pain – the joys of running a site, huh? :) )

Hey neato to see Dana @mrsdeegee helping out in the groups. I read her blog post on the searching for the one and it was quite inspiring. Look forward to seeing the health stuff she brings along for us.

    • Thanks Gary. Glad to know you enjoyed the post! I look forward to getting to know everyone. And again, great idea Martin!

      • Hello Dana. Just joined this group and also wanted to say thank you on that blog post that you wrote and Gary mentioned. It was beautiful to read.

        • Hi Bella. Thanks so much for the kind words. I'm glad you liked the post – as I enjoyed writing it :)

          Great to meet you

  • Nicely said, Shalin – a great comment on the post.
How do you see compromise fitting into a relationship (if at all) as well as active listening, as @mrsdeegee talks about in the comment below?

Oh my pleasure Dana @mrsdeegee – I remember back in the day when I started lifting heavy free weights, the so-called trainers at the gym were crap (in hindsight). Under their instruction, I tore some tendons and was off training for 3 months – the dickheads!
Well, it was a good thing as I did my own research during that time and became far more…[Read more]

    • Can't say I'm surprised to hear it. One of the graduates of the school I went to is a former Mr. Universe winner. He repeatedly says that if he'd had a proper understanding of the human body during the days when he competed, he would have avoided the injuries he sustained.
Exercise can be a rewarding practice when certain principles are…[Read more]

      • Wait til you get to my age :)
I've now switched to only doing body weight exercises so it's always convenient and requires zero equipment or a gym. Way better for my lifestyle and it's all recorded and timed by my iPhone. Yeah, I'm a Geek :)
My biggest concern is the number of unaware personal trainers that tout how good they are when they're…[Read more]

        • It's true. The fitness industry doesn't have strict requirements as to who can call themselves a trainer, or become “certified”. There are companies out there that only require a $50 investment and a quick exam and you are certified in the eyes of that company. If a client doesn't know any better – they will have no clue if that person they are…[Read more]

    • What happened to you is pretty common since it happened to me many years ago when I first joined the gym at the yacht club. Needless to say the uneducated pinhead trainer didn't last long.

      • I don't know about other countries – but in America, there are no specific requirements as to who can call themselves a trainer.
When I was looking for online certification programs, before actually physically attending a school for personal training…I found ‘certification programs' that would cost a few bucks, have you take an easy exam and…[Read more]

Added a new Health Community Group which should be just right for @mrsdeegee – she's got a great eBook just released on exercise safety which I'll post up later for all you guys and gals.
