March 14, 2012 at 6:10 amPost count: 0#5347 |I have been with my fiancee for 1 year (in 4 days) and been living with her since august. She can be controlling, I.E having me stay with her when we shop (grocery or otherwise). She also calls me uneducated, naive, and gullible. It's frustrating and i feel smuthered and I have tried to talk to her but it leads to small arguements. I have tried to end it twice. What should I do?

Hi Chaoticlink
I think you might need to further define ‘controlling'. It's perfectly reasonable to expect you'd be more than happy to shop together. I love shopping with my wife and find it's just another way to be with her and in her space.
Calling you names and disparaging you certainly isn't something that's a component in a loving environment though. Why does she do this? Is it due to certain circumstances?
Bear in mind though that arguments are a healthy part of any relationship. Two people living together will always have differences of opinion and the situation always needs to be viewed as an opportunity to better understand the other person to reach a mutual compromise. I said ‘mutual'.
How have you tried to end it before? How did they progress and end?
Can you provide some further details?
